Pain Relief for Injuries Sustained from Car Crash.

If you have ever been treated for pain after an injury, you know how important pain relief medications can be.  Chronic Pain Management

Pain relief treatments for injuries are available in over the counter (OTC) and prescription.

Types of Pain Relievers

1.  OTC Medication

There are 2 types of OTC pain relievers:  acetaminophen and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS)

Acetaminophen is an active ingredient found in more than 600 over the counter medications and in prescription medications.  Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are common medications used to relieve fever and minor aches and pains.

2.  Prescription Medications

Common prescription pain relief medicines include opioids and nonopioid medications.  Opioid drugs are derived from opium.   Types of non-opioid prescription medications include ibuprofen and diclofenac.

If you are taking a opioid pain medication, do not drive or use any heavy machinery.

Do not change the dose of your pain relief medication without speaking with your doctor first.
